Handling difficult employees? Here's what you must do before they destroy your business.

These considerations help make the employee separation process less painful for everyone involved. Then calmly ask the jobholder to step into the exit interview room so you can speak with them. One way to do this is to review the warnings you have issued to the employee. The lay off notice should include all information on final paychecks, a severance package, when health benefits will end or if the business includes a benefits package. Many employers don't waste the time with recording the situation or getting an explanation from the worker.

You'll either see the gross misbehavior firsthand or, more probably, you'll hear about it from a worried worker. Make sure everyone in Hr knows how to complete the layoff notification template. The most difficult part of counseling a bad employee under contract might be that individual's outlook.
